Night of the Living Dead is a 1968 horror movie by director George A. Romero which became the trope codifier for zombie movies. The story is about seven people barricading themselves inside of a house to escape the sudden plague of living dead. It spawned several sequels, imitations, remakes, and parodies. It is one of the "Big Six" Midnight Movies of the 1960s/1970s.

The film is very popular with horror fans and is the inspiration for other zombie canons and fanworks, but the film itself has a minuscule to nonexistent fanworks fandom.
Pairings
None. Given the subject matter, it's not surprising that the four stories on AO3 are all Gen, since, well, surviving zombie attacks tends to overshadow anything else.
