Nami is a major character in the anime and manga One Piece.
Canon background
Nami is a slim young woman of average height with orange hair and brown eyes. She has a black tattoo (blue in the anime) on her left shoulder, which represents mikan, and pinwheels (a homage to Bell-mère, Nojiko, and Genzo, respectively), where she used to have a tattoo for being a member of Arlong's crew.
Reception and meta
In all the polls conducted among the fans of the series, Nami was found to be in the top ten of the most loved characters: fifth in 1999 and 2002, seventh in 2006, sixth in 2008, and eighth in 2014 and 2017 and for the first time it ranks third in 2021. Retrospectively, Famitsu magazine ranked Nami as the 12th most popular anime heroine of the 1990s.
