Merrill is a character from Dragon Age II.

She is a Dalish mage who leaves her clan to move into Kirkwall. She appears in the Dalish opening of Dragon Age: Origins.

Merrill is a possible romance option for both a male and female Hawke.

Merrill is commonly shipped with Hawke (see Merrill/Hawke), Isabela (Merrill/Isabela), or Carver Hawke (Carver/Merrill). The Month of Merrill challenge was celebrated in 2021.

Response to the Character

Merrill is a generally well-liked character among many areas of fandom. However, she is often misrepresented as being ditzy, foolish, oblivious, helpless, and innocent. This is possibly a case of flanderization stemming from her sweet additude, Marethari's insistance that Merrill doesn't know what she's doing, and Merrill's fish-out-of-water behavior as she gets accustomed to living in a human city.
