Excerpts

When did you first watch Starsky and Hutch?

I was there in front of the TV when the pilot was first aired (on a Friday evening) in the UK in 1975. It had been trailed with a grainy black and white pic in the TV listings and I was all ooh, a dark haired one and a blond haired one! I think, at 14, I was totally waiting for this show. And I fell very hard. And then I discovered actual boyfriends and never saw the last couple of seasons. Didn't get to those until repeats many years later, and even, in the case of Sweet Revenge, until I first got my mitts on the DVDs in 2005.

What is your favourite story that you wrote? In the fandom?

As I'm amused to see I wrote in the notes when I posted it on AO3 in 2011, my favourite story has always been Lousy, written in March 2006, and based on Deckwatch!

I've read lots of wonderful stories of all genres in the fandom over the years and have many beloved authors, new and old. The stories I binged over when I first discovered the Bay City Library (oh happy day!) were generally Starsky hurt/comfort fics, of which my two very favourites remain Inevitablis by Audrey (which was a sucker punch I'm not sure I ever recovered from) and The Great Wall of China by Callisto (which totally nailed the love between them for me, and for which there is a wonderful podfic read by hardboiledbaby). But there are, really, so many others. Some are even not about Starsky getting shot :D
