Lord Seventh (七爷, Qi Ye) is a Chinese danmei webnovel by Priest that was originally serialized on Jinjiang Literature City. Priest also wrote a sequel, Faraway Wanderers, that was adapted into a live-action drama, Word of Honor. In addition to Priest fans and other cnovel fans, some Word of Honor fans have also become interested in Lord Seventh.

Summary from Novel Updates:
Waking up again in his seventh reincarnation, Prince Jing Beiyuan found himself back in time, when everything had yet to be set in motion. Having been given a second chance, Beiyuan has to survive court and decide whether it was finally time for him to let go of his feelings or not, all while trying to handle the youthful, innocent force of nature that had suddenly barged into his already complicated life.[1]
Jing Beiyuan and Wu Xi also appear briefly in the sequel, Faraway Wanderers, and the sequel's main character is one of the side characters in Lord Seventh. However, the two novels are different genres (the first leans heavily on court intrigue, and the second is wuxia), so there is less overlap in fannish interest than might otherwise be expected.

Sparkling Water Translations started posting an English translation in May 2019 while also translating Faraway Wanderers. The first chapter posted includes an apology for the delay in posting updates to Faraway Wanderers.[2] Sparkling Water Translations dropped the project after five chapters[3], and it was picked up by Mao Translates, who translated chapters six and seven before dropping it in September 2019 as well.[4] Starting from chapter eight in October 2019[5], JadeRabbitPendants posted a fan translation from Vietnamese to English on Wattpad, but removed it in January 2022 following news that jjwxc might poach fan translations for its new international site.[6] Finally, Chichi picked it up and translated the entire novel between July and December 2020[7], so a complete translation has been available as an undownloadable google document to fans ever since. However, interest in new translations remained: on January 1, 2024, another translation team, Team 7.0, posted the first eleven chapters. On their carrd, they stated their goals for the project:
This translation aims at providing an accessible experience, even for people who aren't yet familiar with the genres or customs. Fidelity to the original intent, rhythm and tone are, of course, our utmost priority. However, in order to make it a smooth reading experience in the English language (and also as a means to keep the flow of the original novel), this version is rather heavily localized, which means that most terms are translated into English, and we do sometimes have to distanciate ourselves from the original sentence construction and structure.[8]
Lord Seventh has a tiny fanfiction fandom. On AO3 there are 453 fanworks in the fandom tag as of January 2024, 337 in English. However, many of these are cross-tagged with Word of Honor and Faraway Wanderers; only 291 works (231 in English) are guaranteed focused on Lord Seventh characters alone.[9] Among the 231 English works, the most popular ships are Jing Beiyuan/Wu Xi (139), Helian Yi/Jing Beiyuan (24), Liang Jiuxiao/Zhou Zishu (20), and Jing Beiyuan/Zhou Zishu (16).[9]
Lord Seventh was eligible for Yuletide in 2021 and 2022. Participants wrote 4 fanfics in 2021 and 2 fanfics in 2022.
