I've been a member of the L&C Fanfic List for about two years and I run a L&C fan club newsletter, in which I get to write fanfic recommendations. o)
I saw other FOLCs doing it and wanted to jump in, too. I had ideas that I felt hadn't been explored yet . . . or at least explored the way I wanted. I just love being able to make characters do and say whatever I want. I watch a lot of movies and have a few TV shows that I love, and I just hate it when the characters don't do what I would have them do. Writing gives me power. The power to be really strange or to be really influential. Whatever I feel like.
Nfic? Tried it, didn't care for it. I appreciate writers who write non-nfic versions of their stories so that people like me can enjoy the stories without reading about the sex.
