Life on Mars was originally a British show that aired in 2007 on the BBC. It spawned a US remake on ABC, a Spanish remake on Antena 3 ("La chica de ayer") and a BBC spinoff series. Despite the title, the premise is not, in fact, about living on Mars or a similar space travel SF plot; instead, it is a cop show with a time travel storyline.
