Reviews
Lady Grey is the undisputed queen of long, drawn-out angst, sometimes even to the detriment of plausibility and characterization. Still, the emotional impact of her stories is staggering, and the pain she lets her characters suffer is beautiful in its raw intensity. Jack and Daniel are put through the wringer and emerge clearer-headed, purged and finally able to give all of themselves to the one they love. As in any romance novel, their road to realization is paved with misunderstandings, hurts and denial, as well as a certain amount of sap. Still, I have re-read "The Garden Series" countless times and am quite enamoured with "Rainbow Warrior" despite the pro-American 'Jack catches Bin Laden' storyline that turns my stomach.[2]
