Change to Games Workshop Fanwork Policy in 2021

In July 2021, Games Workshop rolled out their animation streaming service, Warhammer+, and updated their Intellectual Property Guidelines to explicitly disallow the creation of fan animations:

Fan-films and animations – individuals must not create fan films or animations based on our settings and characters. These are only to be created under licence from Games Workshop.[1]

On July 29, 2021, Bruva Alfabusa annouunced that If the Emperor Had a Text-to-Speech Device was going on permanent hiatus as a result:

It is with great horrible pain that we must announce that If the Emperor Had a Text-to-Speech Device and all of its related projects on this channel are going on an indefinite hiatus.

...

With Games Workshop's new explicitly zero-tolerance policy against fan animations, we no longer feel it tenable to produce Warhammer fanworks at this time.[2]
