Hilda/Marianne is a relatively popular pairing between Marianne von Edmund and Hilda Valentine Goneril in the Fire Emblem: Three Houses fandom.
Canon
Marianne and Hilda are best friends and are often seen standing next to each other or chatting throughout the game. They have custom dialogue for paired activities like chores and mealtimes and the possibility of a paired ending in which they "deepened their friendship through letters." Their support chain is about Hilda trying to get Marianne to help her with tasks and Marianne's clumsiness messing it up, ending with Marianne feeling comfortable enough with Hilda to laugh at her and Hilda saying "It's nice to see her laugh... Sure, she was laughing at me. But how can I get mad when she looks so dang cute?"
During the pre-timeskip phase, if both are in the player's class, Hilda gets angry when other people spread rumors about Marianne being friends with Jeralt's killers. Marianne tells her to leave it alone, but if the player says they'll prove those people wrong they earn support points with Hilda.
Their ending is ambiguous, but does not shut down the possibility of them being more than friends.
In Fire Emblem Heroes, the 2021 Summer Vibrance banner features them as a Duo Hero.
Fandom
Marihilda is the second most popular femslash ship in Three Houses fandom, having gained a strong following from practically the beginning. Fans are drawn to the contrast in their personalities and how they bring out different sides to one another. Marianne makes Hilda willing to put in effort and brings out her soft side, while Hilda makes the normally solemn and sad Marianne laugh and smile.
Their color palettes also work well together, Marianne's pale blue and navy with Hilda's pink.
The pairing does get some backlash from fans who think Hilda's no good for Marianne due to her selfishness, or find the pairing boring and platonic compared to other f/f pairs in Three Houses. However, it's nowhere near the amount of wank and discourse other Three Houses pairings get.
