The Hanson Fan Fiction Awards (not to be confused with the Hanfic Awards, although both also used that name) were awards for Hanson fanfic. The only round, in 1998, was moderated by Nick and Clarity.

From Nick:

A little under a year and a half ago Hanson burst into the spotlight around the world and captivated us all with their music and their charm. The feelings Hanson created in each of us were powerful and we began seeking a way to express them. Hanfic was born in a thousand different computers in a thousand houses across the world. Tales of these three brothers from Tulsa Oklahoma spilled from our minds like groans from Taylor's mouth. With time our stories began to gain momentum. No longer was a simple fantasy about meeting the guys enough - we had to keep writing and writing until we understood them. Until we could figure out what was driving us. To date that mystery has never been solved. Our fascination with the lives and times of Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson remains unabated. With no offense intended we have sent them on adventures both physical and mental that would defy ordinary men. We have cast them into situations from the freakily supernatural to the devastatingly sad, from the heights of romantic love to the throes of despair. Most of all we have breathed life into the fictional reflections of three very real teenaged guys we respect and admire with untarnished passion. Hanson Fiction has emerged from a few "meeting Hanson" daydreams into breathtaking epics of such depth and maturity many of us have been kept up day and night needing to find out what happens next. We have laughed and cried, being miserable in defeat and defiant in victory as the tales of triumph and tenderness unfold before us. We have revelled in this world we have created and now it is time to honour those stories we owe endless hours of pleasure to.

The purpose of these awards is for you the readers in your multitudes to tell us your favorites from the past year and a half of Hanfiction. Let us know what moments in which stories set you on the edge of your seat or left you in a heap on the floor laughing. Tell us which Isaac, Taylor and Zac you remember most fondly and which fictional characters endeared themselves to you over those hours of reading. Tell us everything you liked about Hanfic so we together can honour for posterity those memories so many of us share. Hopefully this will be the first of many years of honouring this artform we live and breath, this artform that sprung from the imaginations of hundred of us as we stood captivated by a little band called Hanson.

The motto of these awards: "We give these awards not only to honour those past achievements in the field of Hanson fiction but to inspire future writers to push the boundaries of great writing further than we on this day can possibly imagine."[1]
