Anissa and Grace first met when they were recruited to join The Outsiders, a superhero team ran by Nightwing. While not getting along at first, they eventually became friends and started dating.

After meeting at a library and discussing comics and superheroes, Anissa and Grace quickly becomes friends and start spending more time together.

There was excitement in the fandom once Grace was announced as a recurring character thanks to her canon relationship with Anissa within the comicverse.
