Elias Bouchard is an antagonist and popular character in The Magnus Archives. He initially appears to be the bland boss of Jonathan Sims, but is slowly revealed to be a servant of the Beholding and actually a puppet of Jonah Magnus, the man who created the Institute over 200 years ago.
Fandom
Elias has no canon appearance, like most TMA characters, just hints about his demeanour and age. He is often portrayed as an old, white man, wearing a suit that is often black or green. Designs vary from very plain, to eccentric and obviously eye-themed. Several designs have him wearing one or two earrings that have an eye-shaped pendant on a long chain. More crack-y designs might feature him wearing socks or a tie with a weed print, because the original Elias was said to be a stoner. He might be drawn with green eyes appearing around his head to signify his Beholding powers.
"OG!Elias" is often used to refer to the person that Elias Bouchard used to be, before his body was taken over by Jonah Magnus. "Jonahlias" is sometimes used to refer to the Jonah-version of Elias, but this is less popular as it is easily confused by "JonElias", the ship name for Jon/Elias.
Shipping
Elias is shipped with many people, however this is controversial as he is a villain. A lot of Elias shipping material is either dark, explicit, or both.
JonElias (Jonathan Sims/Elias) is popular but looked down upon by some fans as their canon relationship is antagonistic and manipulative.
LonelyEyes (Peter Lukas/Elias) is shipped both sincerely and as a crackship by many people, fuelled by the fans and cast's jokes about Peter and Elias having married and divorced many times.
MartinElias (Martin Blackwood/Elias) is like a less popular JonElias.
MelanieElias (Melanie King/Elias) is a dark rare-pair that often involves non-con or hatefucking.
