Courfeyrac is a character from the 1862 Victor Hugo novel Les Misérables and its subsequent adaptations. He is one of the most prominent members of Les Amis de l'ABC, described as its "center".

Canon

Courfeyrac is a Parisian student first introduced in the novel when he runs into Marius Pontmercy and offers to let Marius stay with him for a while. During this time, Courfeyrac introduces Marius to Les Amis de l'ABC, the Republican society he's a member of, and generally helps Marius adjust to his new life away from his grandfather.

  • Often referred to as "Courf" both by fans and in fanworks.
  • In Canon Era works, he is usually assumed to be a law student due to a number of historical factors[1] as well as because Marius at one point uses Courfeyrac's library for his own law studies.
