Initially, it was rare for vidders (or collections of vidders) to make collections of their own vids available. The usual way to get copies of vids was to buy Contapes: collections of vids that showed at a particular fan convention. Not all conventions made contapes, and the ones that did varied in quality. Kandy Fong was known for her contape collections; she was able to make video credits for some of her contapes (Koon-ut-Cali-Con for one).
