"A fiction zine set in Mercedes Lackey's world of Velgarth, focusing primarily on the kingdom of Valdemar. Stories must be PG, set in the era of the "Arrows" trilogy, and cannot use Lackey's characters." [1]

Description

From the publisher:

'Companions' Grove' is a fanzine set in Mercedes Lackey's Kingdom of Valdemar, featuring stories about the characters created by her fans. This fanzine conforms to the official requirements Misty has established: all stories take place in "present day" Valdemar (i.e., the time during and after the Arrows trilogy); all stories take place in an alternate timeline in which Herald Kris does not die; and her characters, if they appear at all, are allowed only cameo roles. In addition, there are no crossovers: no Pernese dragons, no away teams from the U.S.S. Enterprise, no T.A.R.D.I.S.es materializing in Companion's Field. This is exclusively a Valdemar/Velgarth fanzine... Featuring stories, art, and poetry, each issue of Companions' Grove will run approximately 40-50 pages, comb bound, with black-and-white cardstock covers. The zine will be published on an irregular schedule, depending entirely on how quickly each issue fills up. New issues, with exact page count and pricing, will be announced here and in the Queen's Own newsletter. <ref> from Green Dragon Press <ref>
