Beyond the Camera's Lens was a Fatal Frame series fansite run by Emi. It was created in 2003 as a way to address false rumours and misinformation about the games,[1] particularly claims about the first game's "Based on a true story" tagline.[2] It quickly became a hub for news updates, official links, images, resources, and links to other fansites in multiple languages. A forum was added to the site in November 2004 when FatalForum run by Lord Himuro went offline.[3] Zero Wiki, a fan wiki for the Fatal Frame series, was created in 2007 to allow the community to expand upon the resources documented on the main site.

For a decade, Beyond the Camera's Lens was the largest English Fatal Frame fan community, and its forums were the main organisational hub for the Fan Translation patch of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse in 2010. In the later 2010s, Beyond the Camera's Lens was no longer being updated and forum activity dwindled, and the site went offline on 17 March 2021. Zero Wiki was saved and relocated to a new host, where it continues to be updated.
