Anne Bonny is a historical figure. Anne Bonny is also a main character in Starz's TV series Black Sails, which is a prequel to the novel Treasure Island. Anne also is a character in the video game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, as well as in the online RPG Fate/Grand Order.

Historical Figure

Anne Bonny was a real historical pirate and one of the few women involved in piracy in the 18th Century.

Canon

Black Sails

In the Starz TV series, Bonny is portrayed by Clara Paget. She is a member of Charles Vane's pirate crew, with her long term partner Jack Rackham. She has a fearsome reputation despite her gender, but the fact she is a woman often leads to conflict with her crew mates.

In canon, Anne Bonny is Jack Rackham's partner and sometimes-lover. She also has a relationship with Max.

Assassin's Creed

In the game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Anne met the Assassin Edward Kenway while working as a barmaid at the Old Avery tavern in Nassau. Later, after meeting individuals such as "Calico" Jack Rackham and Mary Read (in the persona of James Kidd), Anne joined them in piracy. They raised a crew and left Nassau in August 1720, intending to soon retire with enough gold to live off.

However, the entire crew was arrested by the British authorities a few months later; Anne and Kidd resisted fiercely, but were unable to beat back the guards by themselves. Taken to Kingston for trial, Anne and Kidd were able to stay their execution by revealing they were pregnant. Anne would eventually escape prison with the help of Edward and Ah Tabai.

Following a depression brought on by the death of her own child, Anne joined Edward's crew as his quartermaster aboard the Jackdaw. When he left for England in October 1722, Anne opted to stay in the West Indies.

In Assassin's Creed: Memories, an older Anne is depicted wielding a Hidden Blade, though whether she actually joined the Assassins is uncertain.

In the Black Sails fandom, the most common pairings involving Anne are Anne/Jack and MaxAnne.

The canonical threesome pairing of Anne Bonny/Jack Rackham/Max is also common. There are a small number of fics pairing Anne, or Anne and Jack, with the historical pirate Mary Read. Read appeared in the final scenes of Black Sails season 4's finale.
