/r/AmITheAsshole, commonly abbreviated as AITA, is a subreddit where users post personal accounts of interpersonal conflicts and disputes to receive judgments from other users if they or other people involved in the situations are considered assholes or not.
While /r/AmITheAsshole is not inherently fannish, accounts of conflicts regarding fannish topics are occasionally posted to the subreddit. In addition, the format used for posts is used for fandom memes and epistolary fanfiction, with authors creating fictitious /r/AmITheAsshole posts, often retelling in-universe conflicts through the perspective of canon characters.
