TFW2005, also known as Transformer World 2005, is a Transformers fan site run by Tony Bacala. It is the largest and busiest of the many Transformers fan sites, with over 66,000 registered members on its forum as of June 2013. The site's front page is largely given over to Transformers news, with forum users encouraged to submit news via a news credit system that displays how many stories they've successfully submitted. In addition to the news and forums, the site has a sizeable resources section with coverage of the many Transformers toys, the comics and extensive photo galleries.

TFW2005 has its own Transformers podcast, WTF @ TFW, which was launched in 2008 and is hosted by Internet Personality Vangelus.

The site was originally launched on Angelfire in early 2000, before moving to its current domain in May that year. Between 2001 and 2003, it was merged as part of a larger site named Transfandom.com before the merger broke up, resulting in TFW2005 returning to being a distinct site and growing to be the most successful of the sites resulting from the break up. People officially associated with the Transformers brand have occasionally made TFW2005 their primary location for interacting with the fans, such as Hasbro employee Aaron Archer who maintained a forum section named "Orson's World" until 2003, and movie screenwriter Roberto Orci who posted there until he left the franchise after the second Michael Bay movie.

Notes

  • The 2005 in the name refers to the year that The Transformers: The Movie is set.
