Bingqiu is the popular portmanteau ship name for the central canon ship in The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System, between the characters Luo Binghe and Shen Yuan (also known as Shen Qingqiu).
Canon
Shen Yuan is a modern person who dies and transmigrates into the "stallion" power fantasy cultivation webnovel Proud Immortal Demon Way (PIDW) as the villainous Shen Qingqiu (previously known as Shen Jiu). Luo Binghe is the protagonist of PIDW, who was treated badly by his shizun (meaning teacher or master) Shen Qingqiu for years before being thrown into the Endless Abyss by him - a plane filled with monsters and almost no way to escape. He later returns from the Abyss and gets a violent revenge against Shen Qingqiu.
Once Shen Yuan transmigrates, he does his utmost to treat Luo Binghe better, but is still forced by the System to push Binghe into the Endless Abyss. Therefore, he is convinced that when Luo Binghe returns, he will still be subject to the same vengeance, despite the years Luo Binghe has spent admiring and loving him prior to that moment.
Later, once they have resolved various misunderstandings between them, they get married.

Common Tropes in Fanworks
- Modern AU - moving from the xianxia setting of the fictional novel Proud Immortal Demon Way within Scum Villain's Self Saving System into the modern world where the main character, Shen Yuan, previously lived in canon.
- Teacher/Student Relationship - Bingqiu is canonically a student/teacher relationship with Shen Qinqqiu as Luo Binghe's teacher. Luo Binghe almost always refers to Shen Qingqiu as "Shizun", meaning teacher or master.
- Angst with a Happy Ending - Angst with a Happy Ending is exactly what it says in the name. In canon, Shen Yuan (under duress) pushes Luo Binghe into the "Endless Abyss" and fears being tortured by Luo Binghe upon his return, so he fakes his own death by actually dying and transferring his soul into a pre-prepared plant body. Many fanfics use this already angsty situation, or make up their own, but it often has a happy ending in the Bingqiu pairing.
- Alternate Universe - No System - In canon "The System" is a non-human seemingly sentient entity that forces Shen Yuan to act in specific ways or else face penalties. In fanfic without the System, Shen Yuan, for example, doesn't need to push Luo Binghe into the Endless Abyss. No System fics are often less angsty.
- Jinlan City - When Luo Binghe returns from the Abyss, this is the location where Shen Yuan and Luo Binghe first encounter one another again. Many fanworks will explore this moment, often as canon divergent Fix-It AUs.
