From her Facebook Memorial page:

"Cathy Lynn Goodwin was an Australian fan fiction author, well known in the 1980s and later for her Blake's 7, UFO, The X-Files, The Bill and Hawaiian Five-0 fiction. In late May 2009, Cathy suffered a heart attack and passed away Sunday, June 7.

Cathy was born Friday, 26th November 1954, in King George V Hospital at Camperdown, and was the youngest of three children. Her father was a professional musician while her mother worked in the cinema industry. She attended Blaxcell Street Public School (Granville) until 1967, Granville South High School until 1970, leaving with the School Certificate. Cathy joined the Australian Regular Army in 1974. In 1987 she took discharge at the rank of corporal in the transport corps, thereupon taking up civil employment as a storeperson.

Cathy's interests were wide-ranging, with many due no doubt to her parent's occupations, grounded in the entertainment industry. Documentaries, science fiction, the Kennedy Family, the Civil War, history of manned space flight, rugby union and rugby league, cricket, NFL American football, war movies; the list goes on. Collections included videos, books and DVDs on all these subjects, plus of course the fire engines in model varieties, many of which unfortunately ended up being sold to finance the other interests.

Cathy's dream was to be a television scriptwriter.
