In November of 2022 tumblr updated their terms of service to include a ban on depictions of fictional minors in sexual situations.

While the [[Anti-anti|proship]] community was initially skeptical that this change was meant to be taken as a flat ban on child and childlike characters in fiction and art, a sudden rash of unexpected account terminations swept the site. This ban was proven to be deliberate and strictly enforced in May of 2023 when several community blogs realized exactly what was getting their accounts terminated.
