Shouldn't that be artist instead of author? Just curious, when will be a good time to give feedback for these templates? --Doro 15:34, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

They haven't been officially released for beta-testing yet (that'll be quite soon, today). Also, DOH for author! I'll fix that right away. --awils1 15:44, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Ha, sorry! I just figured out how these templates are supposed to work on wikipedia. /o\ As far as I understand it, "author" is the person who uploaded/created the file and everything about content (summary, fandom, notes, general infos, description) goes in the description field. Makes sense because it's not just supposed to work for art but for all kinds of images. Heh. ^^° --Doro 18:26, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Color

Why is it all pink now? My eyes! >_< ETA: It looked much better before. Turning it into a whole block of color isn't a good idea, especially because it's bound to clash horribly with almost every image page the template is used on. --Doro 21:24, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Amy and I were trying out different styles for the template today. I just made a few more adjustments. What do you think of it now?--æthel 21:55, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Grey looks cool, thanks Aethel! (I can't believe I didn't think of grey. Blame 4 something AM for it. --awils1 00:55, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Grey looks good. :D I think I liked it better though with a border because then you can see where the template text ends and something else maybe begins. ETA: On second thought, I quite like it the way it is now. --Doro 11:44, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Coypright

Maybe it should be added that the short cuts ("Fair", etc.) are case sensitive. I've seen people try it with "fair" but that doesn't generate the text. --Doro 22:14, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

I added a note.--æþel 22:55, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

CC

The only CC images I have uploaded so far are images that were released by the creator under a CC licence somewhere *else*, not in a Fanlore context at all. Was that wrong? I thought that was how CC worked. How does this fit the key? --Doro 22:33, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

No, that was not wrong. I should be more clear -- you can use CC for images that were released under CC somewhere else, or if you're uploading your own images to Fanlore under a CC license. --Awils1 23:11, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

artist field

I think the artist field should be renamed "Creator" to be more flexible. Perhaps we need a specific fanart variant template.--aethel (talk) 17:27, 6 March 2016 (UTC)

category field display issue

I think the category field needs to be invisible as a row in the template as it displays on pages (it looks weird; see File:Wincest.jpg), though the categories themselves should be added to the page. --aethel (talk) 16:15, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

I actually just came to ask why they *are* invisible. And not left as a reminder for people like me (who always forget that someone's gonna have to edit an image I uploaded and add a category) to add one if we know which category it fits? - Jacksbrak (talk) 22:36, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
I think I am responsible this one and I'm sorry, a long time ago when I added category to the usage box, as a reminder becasue people often to add categories to images, it also got added to the visual template. I tried to fix it at one point, but I wasn't able to -- Kingstoken (talk) 09:59, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
I think I fixed this. --sparc 19:30, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
