Trigun Stampede is an anime based on the original Trigun manga by Yasuhiro Nightow. The anime is produced by Orange Studio and premiered on January 7, 2023.

Canon overview

In the future, humanity has left behind an uninhabitable Earth. The SEEDS colony fleet crash lands on a desert planet where humanity struggles to survive, relying almost entirely on living generators called "plants."

The story centers around a pair of twins: Vash the Stampede, a pacifist gunman with a bounty of $$6 million double dollars, nicknamed the "Humanoid Typhoon" for his tendency to unintentionally create a whirlwind of disaster; and Millions Knives, whose singular goal is the extinction of humankind.

On the road to facing his brother in the city of July, Vash is joined by reporters Meryl Stryfe and Roberto De Niro, and then by mysterious undertaker Nicholas D. Wolfwood. Along the way, they face violent adversaries, and the mysterious pasts of Vash, Knives, and Wolfwood are revealed.
