About

From the YouTube description:

Here I come with my final release, LOONAVERSE Original Series “moon&me”, a visual series soundtrack that is for a LOONA X Netflix fictional collaboration.

“Who are you and what is your purpose in life, your sorrowful heart turn your own vision of the world to darkness, no one will care for you as much as you should care about yourself.”

"Re/birth" and "Mind" being the introduction tracks for the album, focusing on the process of rebirth and awakening, the story starts off with a hopeful view of values of life but is followed with a grand reflection of oneself through a psychological delirium, however a positive message is conveyed as a closure for the album. The album purposely has a theatrical and dramatic overall feel to it, as I used genres like contemporary pop (Re/birth), future bass (Monochrome/Yeojin Sequence), jungle music ((need)Me), and even PC elements (Inside the Ego/MIND). Classical music was also incorporated in some of the songs ((need)You/To Believe). “moon&me” reflects what I have been dealing with during my whole life. I am really glad that this can be subtly expressed through music and visuals. I think it can be hard to understand at first but that is the sole purpose of it. Even though a storyline is also written, it can be left to your own interpretations as well.

To say that it was the most fun project to work on would be kind of a lie because it took a lot to showcase a bit of transparency, but this is something I really wanted to do, as it can give some insight to things. But one thing that I can say is that I had so much fun and pleasure creating music and evolving in my signature style ever since I started posting my work.

I actually never planned to voice out what I am about to say but it plays a major part on my decision of leaving. I just feel like... being privately paired or compared with other Orbit producers took off the fun of being here, as it generated unhealthy thoughts while creating, especially when similarities could be spotted. But, I will never forget the incredible response from you when “Silky” and even “Truth or Dare” came out. This was probably a moment where I felt your acceptance and appreciation even though I did think that I had to better myself to feel deserving of your kind comments. “Hide&Seek” album, but especially “RevLover” are to me the biggest productions I have ever done in my entire life, yet they were made through the most chaotic circumstances. But I suppose this spiraling life of mine helped me to create my favorite demos lol. “moondeloona” concert experience was supposed to be my last release ever, but I really wanted to close it off with something containing more depth and that is somehow personal.

I will never ever be able to express my gratitude to you all, who made this experience here so memorable.

Love you and wish you all a great life, stay healthy and safe [1]

Evangelion was their main inspiration for the project.[2]

Reception

The album was a success and popular among the Orbit community.

From Orbit Producer ZSunder:

(ZSunder)

1. Intro - the DUALITY. I kind of associate you with this exact sound, going from like dirty bass to pretty piano to intense brass in seconds and it just subverts your expectations. I also really love the sound design, every sound was so satisfying put together especially this voc sample + the piano

2. Psyche I, Fusion - this sample...is so ethereal I dunno what instrument that is but its just so soothing

3. Mind - these strings woah. HOLY this chord progression and that basss. and that breakdown and the build-up after everything about this is so sjjddjjfg

4. To Believe - that intro is so beautiful...love the subtlety of this one, also that ending whew

5. Psyche II, Heart - this one is musical blue balls might be my least favorite rn but definitely works as a nice interlude

6. (need)You - this is intro is just EVERYTHING. the wobble synths caught me off guard I wasn't expecting that skfhwj. oh and these saxophones omg, this is so funky. I see u monotree samples. favorite part has to be these vocal samples because they're just plus all these small stuff added in the 2nd chorus (?) adds so much

7. Startruck - Uncover samples yess. this is so uplifting, especially amongst everything else, really fits Yeojin. the drums in the chorus, I just love how you program your drums. OK BREAKDOWN wasnt expecting that.

8. Psyche III, Colorblind - these strings really touch the heart, I wonder how you came up with that, could never get that same effect with my midi. Again these vocal samples are so satisfying. WHAT IS HAPPENING OMG THIS ENDING

9. Monochrome - these flutes sound so familiar...I can't pinpoint them, but these chorus drums, I remember hearing them in like every other future bass beat I checked out sjdjsk. These wooden sounds are so interestingg

10. Psyche IV inside the ego - I love the randomness so much how do you compose these??

11. (need)me - intro has me hooked. oh yess this synth and drum breakdown then the PIANO the scale...I'm getting repetitive at this point but I just love the details you put in each of your tracks

12. Re/birth - insert my opinions from the intro. WAIT I wasn't expecting it to end so soon...

13. RevLover - still so good the guitars and piano combo in the verses really soound like they belong to an end credits scene ( the whole track does after listening again) were there any differences from the original? I might be going crazy but I hear subtle changes in the prechoruses and chorus. NEW BREAKDOWN YES and the Psyche II progression at the end (I think)???

can't believe this will be your final project I don't comment very much but just know that I look up to you in arranging instrumentals. I can just feel the emotion you put in this whole soundtrack, whenever I listen to your demos I usually get in a different headspace ?? like the beauty of it all kinda makes me zone out. You just have a style of production thats so unique and takes you out of the world for a bit. wish you luck on wherever life may take you, hopefully somewhere you can continue to make these wonderful pieces[3]

Fans were sad it was the final album:

I will miss you and your music so so much, these projects helped me out of a dark place and made me feel so many emotions, listening to your music is so satisfying. I always looked forward to every single one of your releases and hope that no matter what you end up doing you know that you are a true talent, although I don't know you personally I wish you nothing but happiness and success because you deserve it. Your projects have brought me so much joy and although this may be your last release I'll never forget you, your music or the impact it's had on my life. Your releases gave me something to look forward to, and for that, I'll be forever grateful. I'm sorry things didn't work out for you here on youtube, wishing you nothing but the best Jen.[4]

It really hurts my heart. I feel so hurt inside. Gosh I am crying right now as I'm typing this. Can't believe this is your last project. I want to say thank you and bless you on your next journey but my heart just shatters right now. Hopefully you will find you passion back to become one of Orbit producers. Your music speaks to me. I can't believe you're leaving. Gosh I feel so shtty.[5]

I hope whatever it is you've been dealing with will get better, and you can continue to pursue music. It would be such a shame that someone so talented and who loves music wouldn't be able to share that gift with the rest of the world.[6]

More fan comments:

Your music always lifts up my mood... it's almost a ritual for me to listen to your tracks while I'm omw home after work (especially to City Lights since I always travel by train). I sincerely thank you with all my heart for having shared your talent, thoughts and inspiration.

I'm sorry you felt pressured at times, I know what the stress of being compared to smn feels like but you're honestly incomparable. This is so you, a Jenmusic Original; Your sound is distinctive and I only found yours to convey all these emotions... no wonder you got noticed by Loona (or rather J*den, which means your Loonaverse approved). The last few seconds of this incredible piece got me really emotional. The person in your story finally stopped running. There's this little flicker of hope that you'll come back so... don't be shy, put some more. No but really, I wish you all the best and please stay healthy.[7]

I hate the fact that I just discovered you and your music when everything has been archived already, this sounds like a masterpiece, i swear a lot of orbits deserves so much than what they got, literally orbits is the marketing strategy of loona and from all the multiple droughts we got, all of you, orbit producers and theory makers kept us alive. Now that everything seems to end, I wish i could go back to the time the rerun was released. I now wonder what story all these amazing tracks tell.

Edit. The Re/birth track, both op and ed really gives me heavy Cytus vibes AND I LOVE IT. along with all the PSYCHEs and the YeoJin Sound track THAT SLAPPED SO HARD. I LOVER YOUR USE OF VIOLINS EVERYTIIIIIIMEEEEEEE, THEY SOUND SO AUTHENTIC INSTEAD OF SOUNDING MIDI ALONG WITH YOUR VOCAL SAMPLES. NOW THAT I FIFNISHED THE WHOLE THING, I REALLY WANT TO TIME TRAVEL BACK IN 2022 TO ACTUALLY WATCH THIS KEJDJEBDUBEIFBE[8]
