touchstone is not a widely known term it seems, it is used, but not as a tag or trope itself it seems. It's more of a variation of empath. So I think the right thing would be to create the page of empath people trope and put touchstone as section. Ellakbhesse (talk) 16:42, 21 September 2022 (UTC)

That looks about right, Empath seems to be a more common term/trope and Touchstone a variation of it. I can move this to Empath (trope) and we can make Touchstone a subsection. Would anyone disagree, or anyone have thoughts? Patchlamb (talk) 21:40, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
Page was moved to Empath (trope) without opposition, I'll remove the attention flag. However I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly what a touchstone is... Google isn't helpful, as touchstone is a real word used in varies ways. It's an object in Don't Starve, it's a representation of personality in a game called Vampire Mashup... the closest fandom related thing I see is from the Naruto fanfic examples here. Might it be an older/obscurer Naruto glossary term only? I did find one definition on a Tumblr saying a touchstone is "a partner ninja who will help them go through the stress," which doesn't seem much like an empath at all. Though it's possible that definition just didn't cover a touchstone's empathic abilities. Patchlamb (talk) 15:36, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
touchstone as far as I can remember was used a lot in HP fics (drarry or snarry) and in some Naruto fandom works, it's a pretty obsolete/old term as I remember it back in 2011. I believe it has a connection with Empath (trope). --Ellakbhesse (talk) 00:31, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
It's a bit hard to find anything on, but I definitively see the word used in a few drarry and snarry fics. One compares wands to a touchstone, defined as a link to nature. Another references a touchstone but doesn't define what it means... it does feel like it's somehow related to empathy, but it's just obscure enough where Googling it is hard. I may just need to stick an "Examples Wanted" flag on it. Patchlamb (talk) 14:54, 6 December 2022 (UTC)

I believe there are some touchstone examples on the page but they are also very vague --Ellakbhesse (talk) 05:11, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
