Why was the category Merlin Vids removed? The page has a section about the fanfic trailers for the story. These vids currently don't have their own page. I noticed that the Merlin Podfic category is still included, even though the podfics are also separate fanworks. --Doro (talk) 12:22, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

I just want to add a little context for my suggestion. The information on the fanvids/trailers is in the Fanworks Inspired by the Story section. When I first read this page, I honestly thought the category had been added in error. We generally don't add fanvid categories to fanfic pages, when the fic inspired vids. (If the vids/trailers had been created by the author, or were otherwise considered canon by fans of the story, a case could be made for adding the category) In this particular case, I really think the category was misleading and confusing, which is why I suggested it be removed.

The podfic was created by the author of this story, and although a separate fanwork, I feel information about the podfic, and the podfic category, should remain on this page. But I don't think there's a hard and fast rule for this, so I'm happy to go with the majority decision on that one. --Auntags (talk) 21:18, 13 October 2021 (UTC)

The category Merlin Podfic is on all the Merlin fanfic pages that also have a podfic and in most cases the podfic is not by the author of the story. --Doro (talk) 01:48, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

You might want to raise this issue on the Category Talk:Podfics and see if we can agree an approach for using the category. I haven't created a page for a podfic or used the category myself, so I'm not sure how editors are using the category.
