I'm not sure how to integrate Flamingo's new archive (link at bottom under Other Archives) with this page. Should it get its own page or be incorporated with this article? Perhaps someone can sort it out? --Mrs. Potato Head 14:23, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Is it the same archive with a different URL or is it another archive which happens to have the same name? Meaning, is the content the same or not? --Doro 14:56, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
The content isn't the same (for now), but the .net version is the successor to the .com one, run by the same people and conceived of as the same archive in some sense. Flamingo's announcement (posted to various mailing lists and announced in person at cons) was: "Our primary archive, www.starskyhutcharchive.com (DOT COM) is still alive and well and holding on to some great SH fic. However, we're out of room on that site (who would've thought!), so updating the archive will all happen on DOT NET. Eventually, we hope to centralize all the fic on the dot net site where we have unlimited space. But that's going to take a while. In the meantime, the dot com archive is still alive and well with a fine collection of some of your favorite fics." Franzeska 21:04, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
I spoke with the .net archivist and the move to the new archive is complete. We should merge the two pages ([[1]]) and add the latest move as this is one series of archive moves under the same archivist.--User:MeeDee. August 30, 2012
I think the two pages should remain separate. They have a completely different interface, the new site has reviews and comments, different graphics, and at this point, different content. A lot of the old material is on the new archive, but not all of it, and there's a lot of new material that has since been added. Even the introductions for some of the old material has been revised or not included. Most of all, it "feels" like a completely new site. --MPH (talk) 11:55, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, over time, even though the archives are run by the same person, you;re right. They have diverged. --MeeDee (talk) 15:11, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

The Archive URL has Moved, Broken Links

Leaving a note that the archive's format and suffix has changed several times, so some links on pages may be outdated or broken. Currently, it has changed from a .com to a .net. If you notice a URL that doesn't go to the current site on any Fanlore article, please update the link. Thanks! Patchlamb (talk) 19:05, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
