Talk:A few words about fan fiction, and, in which the editors draw fire

Because the page Kathryn Janeway already exists, would it be acceptable to fix the links of "Captain Janeway" here and on Wisdom & Beauty to "Kathryn Janeway," and then edit the page for "Captain Janeway" to redirect to "Kathryn Janeway"? Thank you. JKFAN (talk) 00:09, 17 February 2019 (UTC)

I would opt to just set up a redirect to point "Captain Janeway" to "Kathryn Janeway," and then leave the existing "Captain Janeway" internal links as is. Do any other editors have thoughts? - Fandomgeographies (talk) 00:18, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
That would be my preference too. "Captain Janeway" is a very common way to refer to Janeway in the show, and I assume the same is true in the fandom, so having a redirect set up makes a lot of sense. Additionally, although one could change [[Captain Janeway]] to [[Kathryn Janeway|Captain Janeway]] without it technically being a wrong or bad edit, it would be way more work than just making the Captain Janeway page into a redirect, and I don't see why anyone would want to do all that work. Redirects are great. - Hoopla (talk) 00:25, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
