Hentai is a term used in English-speaking fandom which generally refers to animated pornographic anime, although it sometimes is used to mean pornographic fanart or pornographic manga.

In Japanese the word hentai 変態 is not used in this manner, but rather means "transformation​", "metamorphosis", "abnormality", or "perversion".
