This reminds me: do we have a page to discuss fanart that references famous works of art? Meanwhile, I cannot remember the name of the painting this piece reminds me of. Can anyone read my mind and tell me? :)--æþel 00:03, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

I've never seen a page like that. It would be super to add. I think of all the fanart that uses Michaelangelo's "David." --Mrs. Potato Head 00:08, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
I just found fanart that uses Rodin's "The Thinker": File:Firsttime40.jpg. What should we call this page? I wonder if there is a fanart term for it. It's a bit like those fusion fic reel challenges, except with art masterpieces.--æþel 03:41, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
The painting this reminds you of is probably Klimt's The Kiss. In HP this fanart genre is sometimes called "imitation". At least HP Fringe art ran "imitation challenges" to make fanart inspired by famous art. Gnatkip's page has several examples.RatCreature 07:10, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, Ratcreature! Yes, that was the painting I was thinking of. Okay, I'm looking at hp_fringeart's imitation challenge gallery now. They also seem to call it Imitation of Famous Art. So for a general page on the topic, we could name it Imitation (fanart genre)?--æþel 23:31, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
And I completely forgot about imitations of movie posters. File:Scattered13.jpg--æþel 00:55, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
There is no Imitation page so disambiguation is unnecessary. Should we need disambiguation later, we could call it Imitation Fanart. --Doro 10:45, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
