As mentioned elsewhere, Andrew Kearley was 'big' on getting rough sketches for the stories that I illustrated for him. This even extended to doing character sketches and costume sketches. As for the look of the Doctor in this series, I ended up loosely basing his facial appearance on Robert Hardy, while this fiction Eighth Doctor's wardrobe was largely based upon my own clothing tastes (which included bow ties, but I seem to recall Andrew saying he didn't want any bow ties for his Eighth Doctor). As for Rhonwen, I was told that she was from the mid-late 1960s, so her fashions should reflect that era. As for the poster, I suggested that as a way of promoting the overall series, and to some degree, I loosely borrowed design-wise from the cover I did for View From the Boot Closet 1.
