This is very impressive. I enjoy all the little bits individually, but what really gets me is how you took this form, which is ostensibly just a list, and actually inserted a timeline, starting with Steve barely knowing Tony ("which is when Steve finds out that he's been giving his armor to SHIELD and they've been giving it to Tony"), and ending with them in a relationship. Neat![2]
I love that your Steve isn't constantly mind-boggled by modern technology and social trends-- Steve Rogers was always bright, intuitive and basically good, so it's fantastic to see a story that has him carrying on those traits decades later, no matter how much things have changed around him. As much as I enjoy fish-out-of-water stories, seeing Steve adapt and move forward just warms my heart :)[3]
There’s really no other way to describe this other than lovely. Such a creative way of telling a story, and it’s a hard task, creating a bigger picture out of the little puzzle pieces, but this fic succeeds and goes beyond that. Such a great fic, seriously. The characterization was flawless and I always enjoy fics in Steve’s POV, especially when it’s this well-written ♥ Oh, and that bit with the TV show had me cackling. So good![4]
Fics where Steve navigates and learns about modern times is so fascinating to me, partially because it provides a sort of outside look on things we take for granted. But this is a fun, interesting fic where we learn how Steve comes to define certain words, and there’s beautiful original music based on one section of the fic. Though this fic does have Steve/Tony, the fic is more focused on defining the terms of the new century. Sam_storyteller is a wonderfully talented writer, however, and really makes it work.[5]
