A Mile In Someone Else’s Shoes, or, How Merlin Got His Groove Back is a Merlin/Arthur story by zempasuchil (8256 words). The story is set post-S1/pre-S2.
Summary: Merlin wakes up one morning to find his magic gone. Arthur wakes up one morning to find that he has magic.
After the events in 1.13 Merlin's magic has switched to Arthur. That's how Arthur finds out about Merlin's magic (after first trying to hide it from Merlin) and they have to work together to fix this. This is an example of the type of role reversal where Arthur has magic.
Reactions and Reviews
I loved the idea of Merlin’s magic being transferred to Arthur, and seeing how Arthur deals with it. It was interesting especially in this fic, as its set in s1/s2, to see their relationship grow and change. It’s angsty in all the right places, and it feels believable. Overall, a lovely reveal fic[1]
