From the editorial:

Shaturas [Vulcan for "greetings", hereafter written as a single glyph]. to all, and welcome to our zine! As the editors of this compilation, we extend our wishes for enjoyment, challenge and reaction to this creation of ours. We hope that you will inform us of your objections, of likes, of ideas you've always wanted to see happen - our publication is only as good as the material we receive, our purpose that of reflecting you. Next issue, we'll try to have a page of your comments.

But who are we? Our editorial staff consists of three demented souls, each of whom recently wrote a paragraph describing herself, in order to introduce herself to you readers.

Kelley Wickham, the besieged editor-in-chief of this thing, is generally on the receiving end of all manner of short jokes, simply because people seem to think 5 foot 2 is somewhat on the small side... (Harlan would understand.) She enjoys unicorns, dragons, and similar strange creatures, which could explain her getting into this at all. Reading sf and fantasy is a major interest, as well as listening to and playing medieval music on recorder, in between Beethoven, piano and guitar. She sketches when the opportunity arises, as well as practicing her Vulcan script and studying the wisdom of Vulcan's sages. On the aforementioned planet, she is known as T'Dessa Lashted'oi. (Moon Woman. Daughter of the Wind.) (Symbols after summaries are Vulcan names, in Vulcan script.)

A 17 year old Sagittarius, Sher Bochenek's interests include wilderness camping, biking and crafts. A radical feminist, T'Pree (as her Vul can associates know her - Night Sand) admits to a passion for Spook. She spends much of her time writing Paramount and talking to herself, and loves ice cream and Hrlan Ellison. A movie buff, Sher's life ambition is to someday dance with Gene Kelly. (Ed. note - T'Pree has also recently acquired a fondness for a certain ape of Scottish heritage, and has been known to keep a full-size knight-in-shining-armor in her room.)

A Romulan-Hobbit, Mel Frame (known to others of her race as Leeia) is a recent escapee of Elba Two. She professes an undying love for all males in general, especially those with pointed ears. Secretly, she wants to become a sf writer. Unfortunately, her keepers try to keep her away from a typer. She also specializes in "short jokes" and has an infectious sense of humor. (Ed. note - No known antidote has been found, but we'll let you know.) Leeia is perhaps best known for her immortal utterance when she was rescued by the Big E; "Kirk, huh? What a stoonid name! Must be some sort of attention-getting device!" A frequent artist, Leeia is now kept at Father Frame's Home for the Terminally Misunderstood.

Well, folks, there you have us — we never promised sanity, you understand! But read on, we pray you! Perhaps our writers can offer something new...)
