Welcome on board Nele. Very excited to see more doujinshi being added. If you have questions, we generally use the Talk page (see 'Discussion' link upper right). And some editors have enabled email (go to their User Page and see Toolbox lower left).--MeeDee 15:29, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Thank you! Still finding my way around the talk pages, but it's all becoming clearer now :) -Nele

Space

Hi there Nele -- You created an article Space on booths in doujinshi cons. I'd like to use Space for a general disambiguation, pointing to the various articles on tropes, fandoms etc going under varieties of that name. There's some suggestions about the name that your article should best be moved to at the talk page, if you'd like to weigh in there. Thanks! Espresso Addict 08:39, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Ok, I've now moved the article to Space (doujin). I've fixed all your existing wikilinks within articles, but not the one on your userpage. By the way, I noticed you were using the format [[name|names]] to link in the plural; you can just do that as [[name]]s; that trick works for a few other common endings too. Cheers, Espresso Addict 10:11, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the link-fixing and the tip! Nele 10:30, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Fandom and Profit Timeline

Nele, I don't know how to date/refer to it, but there is a bunch of information on the Fan Art page under controversies for the timeline you started. (Neat page, btw.) --Mrs. Potato Head (talk) 13:32, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

Thank you! And for the help too. I'm combing through Fanlore and some academic articles for existing references to incidents and things. Perhaps we should add a one-sentence summary of what went down with each incident on the page, or people will have to click on every single link separately to get an idea of how the history unfolded? On the fan art page, there's a few reference to dates when things Happened that set off the discussions described. I'll add those, but there must have been more incidents... --Nele (talk) 16:04, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
Good idea about summaries. I'll add what I can. And I'll also keep my eye out for more stuff for this page. Having a place to put them all is a great help! --Mrs. Potato Head (talk) 16:15, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
Do you have an opinion on how we should handle the one million billion Twilight fics that have been published with serial numbers filed off? There's too many to add them all to the timeline, especially if we include all the self-published ones. Do we, for instance, add only the ones like 50 Shades that have been picked up by a publisher? --Nele (talk) 10:05, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Assuming the timeline is a place to notate major trends or well-known examples, I'd put 50 Shades on the timeline with a footnote of some links to find other ones. Or we could add a section at the bottom of page that included links to "Further Reading" or "See Also."
Some other broader topics that I'm not sure how to put on the timeline are the controversies re for-profit cons vs pro-cons, as well as fans' complaints about pro-companies making money off of them with cheap swag (the oft-complaint that "they must think us Trekkies will buy anything"). For those, we'd need a well-known example and then like 50 Shades, a link to some places on Fanlore where this is much discussion about it. For cheap swag, there was a lot of fan reaction in the letterzines Implosion, The Propagator, and Spectrum [added later, hmmm not as much conversation in those three letterzines as I thought, perhaps I'm thinking of something else; I'll look around some more.] --Mrs. Potato Head (talk) 12:10, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
A bit of a link dump here, but Comlink #22 (1985), #37 (1988), #40 (1989), #42 (1990), and #43 (1990) have fan commentary on fandom and profit. --Mrs. Potato Head (talk) 22:48, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Awesome, thank you! Adding those in in a few days, traveling now. --Nele (talk) 19:34, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
