Welcome to the wiki!

Hi Dictionary, it's nice to see you again! We knew each other via tumblr roleplay for awhile. Speaking of, you might have thoughts on the conversation going on at Talk:RPG? - Hoopla (talk) 22:17, 29 November 2018 (UTC)

Hey there, Hoopla! That's super great, I love reconnecting with people from the RP sphere. :D Thanks for the link! Sorry if this reply is formatted wrong, because I am really just... Wrapping my head around Fanlore formatting and it's kinda killing me here. - DictionaryWrites (talk) 22:37, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
Oh man it's okay the wiki formatting killed me at first too. I'm impressed by your dedication to indenting there! As you can see from my reply, : is actually the markdown way! I found wikipedia's various style guides to be really helpful, as they also use mediawiki.
Also, I want to draw your attention to Fanlore:Identity Protection because the Lise page links to some pages that use that fan's real name, pages that don't link back to their tumblr or AO3. Unless you can show that they freely connect their fan life and their IRL real name stuff you should make separate pages. - Hoopla (talk) 22:49, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
I'm just trying to swing my head around it, honestly - even writing in raw HTML and CSS is aight for me, but the wiki formatting is a whole new thing for me to learn to wrangle, you know? And as for the latter point, I'm not sure - I only included the articles because Lise has linked them on her Tumblr before, but not mentioned the real name/username divide, so I'll leave those off her Wiki entry for now, I think!
Yeah it's always good to be as careful as possible when it comes to outing fannish identities. I'm sure you could get a final word on whether it's okay via tumblr ask.
Once I got into the swing of things I decided I liked it, although I had some experience with markdown like this on previous wikis. I'm sure you'll pick it up just fine with enough use! I had the editing cheatsheet open in a tab for like a month straight tho lmao. - Hoopla (talk) 23:00, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
Ha, I am already well expecting to have the cheatsheet as a pinned tab, I think! I keep worrying about like, etiquette and stuff, but I know that multiple people are able to edit stuff, so it's okay if I get stuff slightly wrong, I'm aware - it's just a matter of thrashing in the water 'til I can swim, I think! - DictionaryWrites (talk) 23:02, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
