In the fall of 1998 I moved 2500 miles from home to go to college. For the occasion, I acquired my first ever computer and, upon arriving at school, my first ever unlimited access to high speed internet. By winter I had discovered both media/fanfic fandom in the form of the discussion and fanfic mailing lists for the movie Labyrinth and sf/book fandom in the form of the Lois McMaster Bujold Mailing list. Fandom has been an integral part of my life ever since.

I contribute to fandom mostly by writing a lot of meta and sometimes reccing fic and vids. I am one of the maintainers of the livejournal community metafandom and I'm a member of the OTW Finance Committee.

I'm fairly polyfannish, but I tend to have one primary fandom at a time. My current primary fandom is Bandom. Other fandoms in which I still occasionally read/participate include: Stargate Atlantis, Due South, Horatio Hornblower and Doctor Who/Torchwood
