I'm a complete sucker for keeping warm fics, in any possible way. Add to that some gorgeous details (I'm not familiar with the other source credited, but it's absolutely captivating) and this is just a wonderful read.[1]
Why I loved it: Two words: Slow. Burn. The author built tension between these two so deliciously!! I love a good 'yeah, we both know where this is going' fic that is filled with meaningful gestures, heartfelt sentiment and genuine affection. This version of King Arthur and his High Sorcerer is my new head canon - absolutely perfect!"[2]
Until Morning Light by myashke is a fic that has warmed my heart a thousand times over. It's a canon AU, set after s3, and it's absolutely gorgeous. This fic hits so many of my buttons, but I'd like to specifically mention three: [1] it's very atmospheric ♥ (the way the show actually should be and isn't) [2] it's got a truly gorgeous Merlin/Arthur relationship that is so beautiful that I can't even. Beautiful, IC, from start to finish, perfection. [3] it's got a 'Merlin finally gets the recognition he deserves' scene and it's absolutely glorious. ♥♥♥ That said, the fic is warm and incredibly intimate, but not sugary sweet at all. I'm not sure how it all works, but it does. Must be magic. ;) If canon drives you up the wall, or if you're just feeling down, this is perfect for you. I know it was for me."[3]
