True Love is a trope that is popular both in fanon and in canon.
It is the belief that a specific character is another character's perfect soulmate, a love interest that is meant to be.
"Twoo Wub"
In the 2000s, fandom began to use this mocking pronunciation of the term to describe badly-written relationships in either canon or fanfic, relationships between Mary Sues and canon characters, or simply any pairing they didn't like. It was most commonly used in reference to Shipping Wars where one character would be bashed for being "in the way" of the preferred couple.
