True Blood is a television series based on Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire Mysteries novels. It was adapted for HBO by Alan Ball, creator of Six Feet Under. A melodrama set in present-day Louisiana, True Blood contains a lot of elements that traditionally attract a fandom: a large cast (several already known to fans), epic love stories, supernatural beings such as vampires and shapeshifters, queer characters, and comedy. Also HBO invites fanactivity, for example on their own wiki they have fanfic, fan videos and fanart with various pairings.[1][2]
True Blood stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Sam Trammel, Alexander Skarsgard and Nelson Ellis.
