First thing I noticed about this 93-page long zine is the adorable sketch of Tom by Susan McMahon on the front cover. It sets the stage perfectly for the feast of Tom inside. "You are—you are mine! All mine! And I am yours!" is the way Tom began his first Q&A session, opening himself to the pursuit of an almost infinite variety of topics. The inevitable questions arose: about his favorite companion/episode/villain, K-9, the costume, getting the job in DOCTOR WHO, etc. Other queries lead him into often surprising, always amiable, sometimes teasing, and occasionally enigmatic comments on anything from SPACE: 1999 ("an insomniac's dream"), roses, the powers-that-be in TV, his feelings about WHO and somethings he'd have liked to do in it, how Dracula should be played, acting and falling in love, Mozart, the necessity of striving for excellence, amateur science fiction, his going into a monastery, to growing old and so on. It's an intriguing glimpse of the man behind the Doctor that most US fans probably know best.
