"They're Taking the Hobbits to Isengard" is a remix vid by Erwin Beekveld made from video clips, soundbites and songs from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.[1] The video was posted on Albino Blacksheep in 2005 and quickly became very popular; the YouTube version alone has 17,324,402 views.[2]

Rise in Popularity

The video spread beyond the LoTR fandom to the point where it became a well-known meme. It has inspired countless parodies, covers and lots of fanart. One of the most popular covers was one made by Peter Jackson in 2013, featuring Orlando Bloom speaking parts of the song over the video. His notes on the video:

A day after saying goodbye to Gandalf and Tauriel, it was time to farewell Legolas. What a great day it was, with Orlando battling a serious Orc for all 12 hours of shooting - part of the Battle of the 5 Armies for the third Hobbit movie. When we finally got the day done, we said goodbye to Orlando, had a couple of beers ... and couldn't resist doing this![3]

The video made a reappearance on Tumblr following the death of the creator on March 30, 2022.
