Summary
From the publisher, "Colin Jones pushed back his ash blond hair and wiped the sweat from his brow. The machine hummed. He knew he was close. The hum grew higher in pitch as he tapped several commands into the keyboard. Then, in the center of the floor, seemingly suspended in mid air by a large metal arch, the blue light grew and swirled. It almost filled the arch.
Although Colin was inside an underground lab in the middle of the city, on the other side of the swirling blue light he could see a white sand beach and people moving about. He picked up a coffee mug and tossed it into the light. To his astonishment it landed on the sand. Before the light faded away, he caught a glimpse of a woman picking up the mug and staring toward him.
He smiled. Thrush was going to be very pleased with his new invention. Yes, indeed.
When men start appearing out of thin air, blowing up buildings around the world, the men from U.N.C.L.E. are called upon to discover how they are doing it. But, they are not alone in the hunt, and much crossing and double crossing ensues as the machine is stolen right out from under the noses of Thrush."
