Lovely, pared-down-to basics short story of Kirk's attending Soock's wedding and stopping it with his declaration of love. I found myself getting caught up in the powerful emotions that came from simple, direct dialogue. So when Spock says, 'There is nothing you have to say to me that could not have waited until after the ceremony," and Kirk answers, "I love you." it just swept me away. What could have taken pages, this author said in one and quite effectively, at that.
