This is a wonderful tale of a Master in need of a lesson from his Padawan.

Obi-Wan is Jedi-brave here, making all of the overtures that lead to the deepening of his relationship with his Master, despite being faced with Clueless!Qui, as well as the inherent disparity of their ranks in the Order.

Love the way it's set up so we could see Obi-Wan's restless longing from the very first scene, though Qui-Gon was charmingly oblivious. It's exciting to watch their dynamic change from partners simply relieving their sexual tension (from Qui-Gon's perspective) to that of committed lovers (what Obi-Wan wanted all along). And just as their relationship grows, the significance of the planet Padril does, too. So it's fitting that Padril, introduced as a decadent pleasure spot, becomes the destination for their first true lovemaking.

Qui-Gon's words sum it up far better than I can:

"We're going to love one another, Obi-Wan - in bed and out of it. That's what we will do."
