The Dragon and the Sparrow is a gen Darkover novel by Patricia Floss. It has 24 pages, including the cover.

The cover drawing is by Diana Paxson; cover calligraphy by Dorothy Breen. The back cover has a larger version of the front cover.

In an introduction to the story, Marion Zimmer Bradley praises Floss's first story, the novella The Other Side of the Mirror, and then writes of this work:

We are proud to present a second story by Patricia Floss, using some of the same characters [of the first story] -- Felix Aillard, a major character in OTHER SIDE, is the protagonist in this story. I think it equally well written, equally filled with the "real flavor" of Darkover. I hope you all enjoy it. I did.
