The Crown of the Summer Court is an epic Merlin/Arthur fic trailer by nerjaveika (2:41 min). It was created for astolat's elf AU The Crown of the Summer Court and is based on the Russian translation by Etne (translator) and Tokyo_number_13 (beta).[1]
In addition to footage from Merlin (S1 and S2), the vid uses clips from Lord of the Rings for scenes featuring the elven characters in the story and additional footage from The Fountain, and The Da Vinci Code for the flogging scene and the passage where Merlin lets a tree grow to show the strength of his magic.
The vid won the Spring 2010 Merlin Slash Awards in the category Best Trailer ("Fanvideos: Arthur/Merlin") and was a runner-up in the category Best Editing.

I wondered when seeing this on the newsletter if you'd have used footage from the Hellboy movie but was surprised on how you got everything you needed perfectly from LotR. My favorite moments might be when Merlin 'grows a tree' with that smile, and when Arthur is drinking with Merlin from the cup, for the first time without that fatality from the series. It was really fun to see all those scenes from both sources so completely recycled."[3]
