Reactions and Reviews

A sequel to A Rare and Precious Thing (which see). A SND 4th season story, laboriously written with odd mechanics (double spacing; screenplay format for dialogue) but displaying obvious love of the characters. Leaving infant Jacob in Mary's care, V/C set out by van for an idyllic visit to C's CT cabin. When they arrive, after various dangers and difficulties, they spend their time in rapturous lovemaking. Meanwhile, back in the tunnels, Father battles his worries and his aches, and Jacob is abducted by a woman masquerading as Elizabeth. Father sets out to rescue him, but proves to be in need of rescue himself. After assorted delays, dangers, and injuries (a flat tire; C hurts her ankle), V arrives in time to prevent any injury to Jacob, and all ends happily. The really excellent art by McCraney and her son Kevin lifts this zine to a higher level than the writing alone would merit. [1]
